Shashwat Dham


Shashwat Dham, a destination for nature lovers, spiritual seekers and a sacred venue for exploration and tranquil experience was inaugurated by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on March 7th 2017 at Chaudhary Group Industrial Park, Damkauli, Nawalparasi. During an inauguration she said that religions and cultures convey moral message to maintain national unity. Key speakers of the event emphasized that such a pilgrimage site could be very important to promote compassion and goodwill. The program synchronized the idea of unity in cultural and religious diversities as Nepal’s identity.

Chairman of the foundation Binod Chaudhary, founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and religious leaders from Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, among other countries, also attended the function. Former king Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev inaugurated Sarbadharma Sabha, assembly of leaders of Hindu, Buddhism and Muslim faiths.

“We regard Shaswat Dham as a beginning of a new revolution for preservation of our spiritual heritage and all the elements associated with Sanatana Dharma which needs to be preserved and shared with generations to come helping them make their lives more fulfilling’s” Binod K Chaudhary , the chairman of Chaudhary Group said during an inaugural ceremony. The mission of the Shaswat Dham is to be the most sought after destination for explorer, seekers and nature lovers globally for spiritual upliftment, mental tranquility and physical wellbeing, through knowledge ( Jnana), Devotion ( Bhakti), Action( Karma) and Yogic Practices ( Raja) while preserving and upholding the essence of Sanatana Dharma in its purest form.

ShaswatDham is spread over verdant 12 acres, amidst scenic foothills of Nawalparasi Nepal. It took about 15 years to build Shashwatdham that houses Shiva temple Ekambareshwara, a vaidik karmakanda Gurukul, Sri Sri Meditation and Yogic Sciences Center, a heritage store called Samskriti, Annapurna Satvik pure vegetarian restaurant and Shahswat Dham manuscript resources center where it preserves and conserve the ancient manuscript available in Nepal. The manuscript resource center at Shashwat Dham aims to achieve these manuscripts in physical as well as digital format and with the help of scholars from all over the world decode the wisdom in it and bring it to the masses through publication and series of lectures. Carved to perfection, the architectural marvel Shiva Temple is abode of 16 deities with Shivalingar consecrated in Sanctum santorum( Garba Griha) inspired by Khajuraho’s architecture and surrounded by the holy waters frm seven holy rivers of Nepal ( Saptagandaki), the temple radiates spiritual energy, peace and serenity.

With aim of training the Batuks to become learned Brahmins, Gurukul takes 15-16 students every year. Based on the ancient methodology of teaching, Vaidik karmakanda Gurukul aims at training deserving Brahminsto carry the knowledge of performing poojas, samskara and homas in highly effective manner. The Gurukul also extends the facility of getting personal poojas and homas done along with facility to hold gatherings for samskaras like Upanayan (sacred thread ceremony) and Vivaha( wedding). Sri Sri Center for meditation and yogic sciences is the center for happiness, peace and social wellbeing, working on Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi ShankarJi’s mission of creating a strss pree and violence free society is open for all who are seeking a peaceful and happy life. The center also conduct monthly youth leadership training programs, inspiring and empowering rural youth to take social responsibility and work for the betterment of rural Nepal. The heritage store has unique items of historic and spiritual significance to carry along as souveneirs. Annapurna Satvik pure vegetarian restaurant is based on the principles of Ayurveda, Annapurna serves delicious cuisines for coonoisseurs of vegeterain food, using pure organic products, which are high in prana-the vital life force that sustains our existence and nourishes the body, mind and intellect.

The event was blessed by Kanchee Shankaracharya Jagadguru Jayendra Saraswati Ji over the skype followed by inrerfaith congregation where greatest saints and religious leaders from India and Nepal grace the event by their novel words. The program was attended by approximately 10,000 people who came from various parts of the country. Shashwat Dham is open for public every day and it is expected serve thousands of visitors for all around the globe.
