Call for participants

Chaudhary Foundation’s livelihood initiative ‘Unnati’ is calling for applications for “Fundamentals of Art Management” – a short course for existing and potential art managers, designed as an introduction to Arts Management for arts and culture professionals. With a combined experience of over 40 years as arts managers, Pooja Sood and Ruchira Das, from ARThink South Asia, will cover key aspects of arts management, strategic planning, and marketing strategies, fundraising in art and cultural sector & human resource management. This workshop will culminate with an interactive session in Unnati Cultural
Village, Nawalpur, Nepal. “Fundamentals of Art Management” is intended for managers already working in the industry and for individuals considering a career in creative industries. This program will be beneficial for many types of institutions and art forms, including galleries, theatres, cultural organizations, museums, and business/initiatives where creativity and artistry play a central role in the day-to-day operation. The workshop is being provided to 20 participants. The placement is highly competitive and will be selected through an application process. For these seats the following would be the primary/secondary beneficiary:

Primary: Arts Leaders/Creative Sector Leaders

  • Based in urban centres of Nepal
  • Has at least a bachelor’s degree (in any field)
  • Works in the creative sector, has experience of at least three years in the sector
  • Age group: 24 – 40 years of age
  • Understands and values culture as a tool for both economic and social empowerment

Secondary: Emerging Business Leaders

  • Engaged in studies of business administration/ management or currently employed in the
    Commercial sector
  • Has at least a bachelor’s degree (in any field)
  • Age: 20 – 30
  • Is potentially considering a career in the creative/cultural sector

Registration and Fee: NPR 18,000/- per person

Facilities covered by this fee:

  • Accommodation in 4 star luxury hotel, The Fern Residency,Bharatpur, Nawalpur, Nepal
  • Hotel Facilities (breakfast and swimming pool)
  • Vehicle service for pick up and drop off from Kathmandu to Nawalpur
  • Lunch and Hi- tea and dinner during the course hour
  • A notebook, pen, name tag, certificate of participation
  • One exclusive dinner with the facilitators and organizers.
